This installation was conceived around the term “screenshot” and the act of photographing a screen and saving it as a digital image. In a more literal approach to the medium's self-reflexivity, a cell phone films/contemplates a computer screen, recreating the “infinity mirror effect” and projecting an endless loop of screens. Without any special effects, the loop “crushes” different clips of ordinary scenes of Parisian suburbs, distorting, oversaturating, and ultimately reducing them to mere pixels. This self-contained mechanism of the installation transforms it into a machine of sorts, performing a single function with each input of an image—fragmenting it and sending it through the infinite loop of fleeing images.
